Dr. Maricel Godefoy’s story is one of perseverance, sacrifice, and the pursuit of the American Dream.
Born in Cuba, Dr. Godefoy immigrated to the United States at the age of 12. Her journey was made possible through the extraordinary courage of her father, who risked his life crossing the ocean on a raft to escape communist oppression and create a better future for his family. His determination, resilience, and belief in freedom became the foundation for the values that continue to guide Dr. Godefoy today.
After arriving in the United States, Dr. Godefoy embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida International University, where she developed a strong foundation in the sciences and a passion for healthcare. Motivated by her desire to help others and make a lasting impact on her community, she continued her education at Nova Southeastern University, where she pursued her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Through dedication, hard work, and a commitment to excellence, Dr. Godefoy achieved her dream of becoming a dentist. Today, as the founder of Lux Dental, she combines advanced dental technology with compassionate, patient-centered care to create an exceptional experience for every patient.
Dr. Godefoy believes that every smile tells a story and that everyone deserves to feel confident in theirs. Her mission is to provide high-quality dental care in a comfortable, welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and treated like family.
